Inclusive Dance for Adults

Join our inclusive adult dance class series, where you can explore a variety of dance styles, including lyrical, commercial, and dance fitness. These classes are designed to cater to all abilities, offering adaptable movements for both upper and lower body, ensuring everyone can participate at their own pace. Each session is not only a workout but also an opportunity to deepen your understanding of dance. You'll develop your skills through focused practice, learn key dance terminology, and explore the use of dynamics and expression to enhance your performance.

Whether you're a beginner or experienced dancer, this course offers a supportive and informative environment to grow your passion for dance. The classes are taught at a slower pace, with content broken down and differentiated options given to suit a variety of abilities. The instructor gives options for upper body movements only, as well as choreography to suit a full range of movement. Additionally, they provide tips for adapting movements based on individual needs and provide optional 'challenges' for participants to try. The nature of an online class means participants are encouraged to pause and re-watch any elements they'd like to spend more time on, offering additional flexibility.

The Inclusive Dance and Movement classes for Adults are designed to support people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, Learning Disabilities and Learning Difficulties. Inspiring teachers will help adults to keep fit and learn at their own pace. The classes explore learning additional skills including teamwork, creative thinking, expression and choreography, and empathy for others.

The aim is to help reduce stress and anxiety, improve confidence, independence, overall mental health and wellbeing, to boost the immune system, enhance wellbeing, improve body and spatial awareness, balance, fitness, core strength, flexibility, motor skills and posture. A further goal is improved resilience and the confidence to try other activities. Additional benefits include greater independence and quality of life. Dance has proven benefits, and once techniques are learned, and practiced regularly, it can provide lifelong benefits.
