Fitness to Fit you for Children
ParaStars Yoga for children is a seated yoga programme for children with a disability or long-term health condition. Benefits include improved posture, fitness, physical & motor skills, spatial awareness, balance, coordination and flexibility.
A stress relieving programme to increase confidence, range of movement & to enrich everyday life. Children may also bring their own favourite toy to class. Scarves are included for extra fun, but must be supervised if used in class.
These lessons include some exercises for upper body only and some exercises for upper and lower body, to offer diversity and levels. On occasion, the instructor demonstrates movements "out of the chair" for those participants with Long term heath conditions.
This course is ideal for participants who have wide ranging disabilities and additional needs which include:
- Disabilities and conditions which affect mobility and wheelchair users
- People who are blind or visually impaired
- People who are deaf or hearing impaired
- People with autistic spectrum conditions
- People with downs syndrome
- People with cerebral palsy
- People who have had injuries that affect their mobility and health
- People with a long term health condition
Course Curriculum
Jessie
Jessie is an experienced Yoga and Movement practitioner and has been teaching for many years, specialising in Inclusive yoga, children's Yoga & Dance, Contemporary and 1920’s Vintage Jazz. Jessie is super passionate about bringing people together through her love for movement and feels that every day she is so lucky to have a job that she loves. She feels: "so blessed to work and teach with the most amazing people.” As a teacher she is fun, open, motivating and imaginative, presenting all with a friendly smile and compassion. Jessie is always aiming to create an environment where everyone feels happy, safe and uplifted. Jessie loves exercise, being outdoors, exploring, festivals, people and anything sparkly.
